What types of information does Marguerite's Place collect and how does Marguerite's Place use the information?

We collect and use information about you to communicate with you about our services, programs and events, and to customize our communications with you. We also collect information to improve your website experience, enable you to make donations to Marguerite's Place, communicate with staff, and stay informed on news about Marguerite's Place. Here are the ways we obtain information about you, the types of information we obtain, and how we use the information:

• Sign up for our newsletter. When you ask us to send you our newsletter, you provide us with your email address so we can fulfill your request.

• Sign up for text message alerts. You can sign up for promotional text messages and business operations alerts if you provide us with a phone number that can receive SMS. If you wish to stop receiving text messages from us, reply STOP, QUIT, CANCEL, OPT-OUT, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any text message sent from us. • Donations or Payments. When you make a donation or a payment, you may choose to give us contact and payment information (such as credit card information) so we may process your payment. When you make a donation or payment using a credit card, we use your credit card information only to fulfill your donation or payment.

• Volunteer Form. When you complete a volunteer form, you may choose to give your email address and phone number. We will use this information to contact you to coordinate volunteering opportunities.

• Housing Application. When you complete an Application for Housing, your information is added to our waitlist, and a member of our team will use the contact information provided to reach out to you when housing becomes available.

Common Questions:

1. Does Marguerite's Place share the information it obtains about me with third parties? Marguerite's Place does not share personal information about you with any third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do share this information with service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf, but these service providers are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. 

2. How does Marguerite's Place protect personal information? The security of personal information is a high priority for Marguerite's Place. We maintain online safeguards to protect against unauthorized disclosure, use, alteration, and destruction of the personal information in our possession. To protect the security of your credit card information, we use the SSL industry standard technology. This encryption standard scrambles data as it travels from your computer to our server. You'll know that you're in a secure area of our website when the "http" portion of the website address changes to "https". The "s" stands for "secure".

3. How does Marguerite's Place update its Privacy Policy? Marguerite's Place will update our privacy policy periodically to reflect any changes that may occur to our website and programming. When we revise our Privacy Policy, we will change the date on the top of the policy to indicate when the revisions were made. We reserve the right to change our information practices and the terms of this Privacy Policy, and to apply the changed practices to all information we have about you. 

4. Does the Marguerite's Place website contain links to other websites? The Marguerite's Place website may contain links to other websites that operate independently of Marguerite's Place and are not under our control. We provide links to those sites solely for your convenience and information. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we suggest you review if you visit any linked sites. Marguerite's Place is not responsible for information that is provided by those sites or for any other use of the sites.

5. How can I update my contact information? Please email us to indicate that you would want to change the contact information we have for you. Please email us from the email address we have on file so we can verify ownership, at pelder@margueritesplace.org. 

6. Will I receive emails from Marguerite's Place? We will send you emails only if you have provided us with your email address and have asked us to communicate with you in this way.
