Getting Involved

Marguerite's Place, Inc. welcomes volunteers interested in supporting our programs with their time and talents. We have an active "Friends of Marguerite's Place" group that meets regularly to plan fundraising, organize food drives, arrange maintenance help, participate in our daycare and develop new ideas for ways to assist our transitional housing program. We would love to have you join this group or let us know about other ways you would like to be involved. Please email Beverly Doolan at bdoolan@margueritesplace.org.

We would also like to extend our thanks to those that have made a difference at our recent events!

The Greater Nashua Mothers Club, First Church Outreach Group, Burque's Jewlers, H3O ministry, and St. James United Methodist Church for donations that made Mother's Day special for our residents.

The H30 ministry of the Immaculate Conception Church, who organized, sponsored, and hosted the Family Fun Day.

Ann Bordeleau of Auntie Diggles Desserts, who donated a beautiful cake designed to look like our new logo and some colorful daisy cupcakes.

Daniel Horan, who manned the grill and served up the yummy sausages and hamburgers.

Sharon Ward, a local photographer and member of H30, who took the beautiful photos at the Immaculate Conception Family Fun Day.

Marguerite's Place is on the Lookout for New Friends / Volunteers

These are just some of the ways that you can help:

Lunch Preparation. Mon, Wed, Fri, 10:30 to 11:45 am. We are looking for volunteers on any or all of these days. The menu and ingredients are provided. The task is simply to prepare lunch for up to 30 young children, and filling out simple USDA paperwork for lunch time.

Lunch Break Assistance. Mon-Fri, 11:30 am to 2 pm, 1 to 2 pm. This task involves being the second person in a classroom when teachers need to go on their lunch break. It may involve assisting with the children, or may be when children are sleeping. If that is the case, the volunteer would simply be in the room and help the teacher prepare for the week's activities.

Office Assistance. Mon-Fri, 3 to 5 pm. Answering the telephone at the reception desk, and accepting any walk-in donations.

Residential Meeting Help. First Wednesday of each month from 4:15 to 5:45 pm. We need assistance watching the children while their mothers are in a mandatory residential meeting. This task would be done with a teacher in the child care center.
